A few choice products from 3M Marine
3M has a marine division that works very hard to provide the boat owner with the best products for the marine market. Keep in mind that this marine market covers a number of different types of boats. 3M also has an Aftermarket Automotive Refinishing Division that deals exclusively with finishing products for paint. Guess what, these products not only work well on automotive paints but also marine paints (basically the same as auto paints in clear coat and Imron) as well as doing a good job at removing oxidation from gelcoat. Keep in mind that the marine division adds more filers and such that make application easier and quick results. It is my view that by using more pure products with the fewest fillers, will give a finish that stays looking great longer. But many times a one step Restorer Wax will do exactly what is needed.
