Company Profile

CleanieDini (www.cleaniedini.com) began three years ago when Dini Macris decided that there is a better way to clean your boats. Dini began writing the maintenance column in Powerboat Magazine as well as doing independent testing of boat cleaning and automotive products. Dini has been cleaning boats for the past ten years. In addition to being passionate about cleaning Dini is also a rower, for his college at The United States Merchant Marine Academy but also his club Thames River Sculls.

Seeing all those shells sitting around not up to Cleanie standards was the source of major inner turmoil for Dini that could only be solved by creating a realistic solution for teams and rowers to keep their boat clean. First through education, second through providing unique products custom tailored to your shell that will make it easy to keep your shell looking great not only in the boat house but at the race course as well and thirdly though a comprehensive line of services that make it possible for clubs to transform into an efficient clean organized machine.

 Why Cleanie

What type of paint do you have on your boat?

If you don't know then you need to. The first step to care for your paint is to know what it is because how you care for your boat will be governed by what type of paint covers your boat. The first step is to ask your boat maker what type of paint they used on your particular hull number. Boat makers are in the business of making boats, making a finished product. Many times they have no clue as to what product will best care for their boat.

One particular boat manufacture had been using white Awlgrip on their boat. Awlgrip is a very hard paint that has a very long cure time, to allow time to polish before it hardens. Once hardened polishing and compounding is near impossible. Using too harsh a compound will actually put scratches into the paint. Too fine a polish will have no effect. When questioned about what product to use the boat maker said, we use 3M Super Duty Rubbing Compound (one of the most harsh compounds available). If this polish was used it would put micro-scratches or swirl marks into the paint that then increase surface area to oxidation as well as leaving a place for filth to adherer to. These scratches, once put into this hard type of paint are almost impossible to remove.

Leave boat building to the pros, when it comes to cleaning there is only one place to turn to. CleanieDini can create a system that works for you. Keep your new boat looking new or get that old boat back up to snuff. A clean shell is a fast shell.
